In My Makeup Bag

Thursday, February 2, 2012

I've loved makeup for as long as I can remember. Ask my mom-- I think I spent all my babysitting money on cosmetics at Target. Thinking back on it... I probably could have had a small fortune now if I had saved it, but whatever, it was worth it! It's so much fun to be a girl! Drugstore or department store makeup-- I love it all! Oh man, if I have a little girl it will be so fun to play with makeup with her.... when she's 18 of course ;)

1. Clinique Superbalanced Makeup (it's the only thing that doesn't freak my skin out!)
2. MAC Select Cover-Up
3. ELF Blush in Fushia Fusion (only $1!)
4. Sephora Anti-Shine Primer
5. ELF Healthy Glow Bronzer in Sun Kissed (I've bought higher end brands like Stila, etc, and this works just as good-- and only $1)
6. Revlon SkinLights Face Illuminator in Bare Light (I think this is like 5 years old, bad I know, but it's phenomenal)
7. Nars The Multiple in Orgasm
8. Clinique Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed Powder Oil-Free in 01 Stay Buff

1. Cover Girl Eye Enchancer in Champagne (highlighter for brow bone)
2. Cover Girl Eye Enchancers in Brown (I think, the color description rubbed off... I use this to fill in my brows)
3. L'Oreal Voluminous Original Mascara in Blackest Black (bomb!)
4. Revlon Eye Lash Curler (because Shu Uemura is no longer sold in the US, boo!)
5. MAC Paint in Shimma
6. Urban Decay Pallette

1. L'Occitane Shea Butter (great for prevention of stretch marks during pregnancy, and it's non-scented, which is great because everything stinks to me!)
2. C.O. Bigelow (need I say more? This stuff is great for lips, cuticles, I've even put it on burns-- it's a miracle worker)
3. Revlon Lipstick #950 in Pink Pout (inspired by Sydney's post here)
4. CoverGirl LipSlicks in Hipster (I don't think they even sell this anymore.. but it's such a great your-lips-but-better color! Think this)

The past few years I have fallen in love with Bobbi Brown Cosmetics. It's a little on the pricier side, so I mix those products with more affordable products from other lines. But Bobbi Brown products are seriously AMAZING. I especially love their Long-Wear Cream Eye Shadow. The. Best. I'm still looking for a really good long-wear red lip color that actually IS long-wear.

I work for as a makeup artist so I have a TON of makeup. Current faves are: Estée Lauder Idealist eye illuminator (I use it under my eyes and as a highlight on my cheek bones), Tom Ford champagne colored glitter eyeshadow (can't remember the exact name), and Chanel bronzer.....love love love.

I could totally swap make up bags with you and be happy! Which I cant say for many people, haha. What do you do with the Face Illuminator? It sounds like fun :)

I LOVE C.O. Bigelow! It has the perfect rosy tint too! I use it everyday. When I was a teen, I pretty much did the same thing...I spent so much money on make up that if my Mom ever found out how much I actually did spend, she'd have a heart attack. Oh well! Fun times!

I really love my MAC Ruby Woo lipstick and MAC's paint pots!

I'm impressed with all your products! I have never really been into makeup (even when I sold Mary Kay for a few years). I wear it, but I just wear the basics: powder, blush, mascara and sometimes I throw in a shimmery eye shadow or eye liner. I never wear lipstick, altho I know I should because it makes such a difference. Now that I have a little one, it's just become one of those things that isn't as important as it used to be. In fact I accidentally went to dinner the other night without makeup! And I actually survived. Haha.

I have a hard time finding make up that doesn't make my face oily or break out, so half the time I don't wear it! I love the lipstick color!

Haha, I'm sure if I saved my money that I blew on makeup, I'd have a small fortune, too! But then, you know what I'd blow that on?
. . . Makeup . . .

I used to spend so much money using only Mac because that is the thing to do when you want to fit in! Now I use mostly Covergirl and honestly, I LOVE IT! I get so many compliments on the blush I use (I USE A LOT!) and it is a $3 covergirl blush, oh and you better believe I wait for a $1 off coupon :-)

Oop, I love makeup posts! I am dying to try a Nars blush stick like that. I've been loving those new Revlon lip butters lately. :) Fun post!
