Eden's First Week, According To My iPhone

So many "firsts" have happened this week.
First time meeting Eden.
First time breastfeeding.
First time Eden met grandparents, relatives and friends.
First pediatrian appointment.
First time I used a changing table.
First time Joshua read the Bible to Eden (when she was there and not in my tummy).
First time using the stroller.
First blowout :)
First walk around the lake.
First bath.
So many more firsts.

A part of me feels sad when the firsts come and go, because it means they are over. But then again, it's not really ending-- it's just beginning. We are so blessed with this little angel baby. She is truly remarkable! I don't know how we got so blessed with such a great eater and sleeper (knock on wood)! It makes for a happy mom & dad :)

In the past week, we have already gone to 2 malls, to Costco, on 2 walks, to 2 pediatrician appointments, and celebrated a wonderful birthday lunch for Joshua's 30th. I didn't think I'd be so active after giving birth to Eden, but it's helped break up the monotony of feed/change diaper/feed/change diaper. Oh man, that girl can eat! Yay! I love being a mom and it really is the most natural thing in the world for me. I also love seeing Joshua be a dad. He's taken such good care of me this week. I love seeing my parents become grandparents and my brother become an uncle. We are all so in love :)

Are you a new momma or a seasoned mama that can share some words of wisdom for the first couple of weeks? Joshua goes back to work soon... pray for me ;) xo

You guys are doing great! Honestly just take it one day at a time. Don't worry too much about a schedule. If she's hungry, feed her, etc. I know they say sleep when she sleeps but I never could. If you get upset or stressed walk away she can sense it and it will cause her to act that way.

eden is beautiful, like her mama! my "advice" is to just relish every moment. don't worry about the house, take naps with her, take lots of pics of this newborn stage that flies by. congratulations, and, blessings!! eeeeeee!

Oh my gosh you look amazing for just having had a baby!! I agree with others on not stressing a schedule, I always just work around baby's cues the first couple months. Just soak up these newborn weeks, they're so precious :)

She is too too sweet! That face. Love!! I found that staying busy and being surrounded my people who love you and who offer to help (even if you don't want it) those first few weeks was a great blessing as well. Totally can relate on the "firsts" being oh so bittersweet. Enjoy Momma!

Love her name...it's one that I've been thinking about for our current bun in the oven :-)
I have a 3 year old little boy and I remember stressing so much about a schedule in the beginning. I think it robbed me a little bit of the joy of having a newborn. Try to take it all in stride and relax. Also, take help when people offer...it's not only a blessing for you, but a blessing for them as they help serve. Congratulations!

Get used to using some sort of baby carrier. They are the only way I survived the first couple weeks when my husband worked a lot of doubles and I was home alone with Zoe. It's the only way to really get things done with a newborn that doesn't nap. Also have granola bars handy. :)

What a precious baby girl, and I love her name!
New Mama's are my passion, it is so unbelievably hard and incredibly wonderful all at the same time.
My advice would be to just love, love your husband, love your baby, love yourself, and love love love on Jesus because you need him to fill you up now more than ever!!
Congratulations sweet girl!

Congratulations! I'm a new mama myself so I haven't really got advice for you except to soak it all in and when you feel like "this is SO hard" just remember how quickly time passes and how badly you will miss these "hard" times.

awwwwww congrats!!! She is perfect!!

Ive got 3 kiddos ... rest as often as you can ... the extreme tiredness should end around 6 weeks :)

burb often this helps I swear even if it takes 15 mins to get that burb! If your girly is fussy and has already eaten burp her :) at least that is how my kiddos were :)
